WHO IS BEAM+?
We are a queer and IDD owned/ led company that provides access to equitable opportunities for all people.
We pride ourselves on being a diverse community of individuals from all walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures.
We break down stigmas within the arts and other aspects of life through classes, projects, and community building.
We are closing the gap and trying to bring folks with and without disabilities, TOGETHER, everywhere we go.
It started as just a small project with two friends trying to create a space where being queer or having any disability won't stop you from creating together with mutual respect. Today we're proud to say that we have evolved to something bigger while continuously breaking stigmas through performances, classes, films, events, and now DENVER PRIDE, all while still cultivating a space for folks WITH and WITHOUT disabilities working TOGETHER as ONE.
This year BEAM+ was given the opportunity to be part of DENVER PRIDE thanks to the financial support from the Creative Ideas Fund. We are choosing to spend this time highlighting organizations, artists, small businesses cultivating and creating safe spaces for folks in the IDD and LGBT+ communities. Help us give them the love and support they continue cultivating.

BEAM+ Stories is a series of episodes following the day-to-day of artists and community members with and without disabilities creating and doing beautiful things in our communities while learning more about access and equity. In this Pride month special, we follow James, a queer neurodivergent individual and future nail tech living life authentically while learning more about themselves in the process.
WHY THIS MATTERS
At BEAM+, we recognize the immense importance of spreading awareness and providing support to organizations and artists dedicated to cultivating safe spaces for individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ and have IDD. By actively advocating for these communities, we strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and celebrated. Our commitment to spreading the word stems from our belief in fostering acceptance, promoting understanding, and amplifying the voices of those who are often marginalized. Through collaboration and support, we can create a world where individuals of all backgrounds can thrive and express their true selves freely.
